Volunteer Opportunity: 3rd Grade Bike Rodeo

Volunteers are needed from all four third grade classes to help Lakeridge third graders learn from Mercer Island Police Officers to know about road safety on their bikes.

If you are interested in volunteering for the event, please sign up here.  To make this event possible we'll need approximately 10 volunteers from each classroom.  The 3rd Grade Bike Rodeo will be held on Thursday, 9/21 from 9:30AM to 11:30AM.

Volunteer Opportunity: Join the Lakeridge Library Crew

We are looking for parents and caregivers to help in the Lakeridge library for 30 minutes during your child's library time, every other week.  This is a fun and easy way to support Lakeridge!  Duties include checking books in/out and reshelving – training videos are available! Volunteers must complete mandatory training per the district.

Volunteers are especially needed to support the following classes: Bobst, Harnish, Hummel, Reid, Tisdel, Wold, Wytaske

Shifts begin the week of 9/11 – please sign up now!

Volunteer Opportunity: Room Parent

It's that time again - time to volunteer to support your child's class as a room parent! Thinking to yourself, "WHAT?!?! I don't have time for that!" or maybe even "I work full time, I can't possibly do this!" Guess what... You CAN :) Being a room parent comes in many shapes and forms. And many classes even have a small team of room parents sharing the load. It can be a ton of fun, and being a room parent is important - the teachers so love and deserve the added support. Kids Corps Tutoring

Kids Corps is a volunteer club focused on providing free one-on-one tutoring for elementary students. We partner up willing high schoolers with elementary-aged kids to help them both learn and grow as students. There are options for both in-person and zoom tutoring. We've been a club for ~15 years and this new leadership team is excited to take on this school year!

As the new school year starts, I am happy to say that applications for new tutees are now open! Any child in elementary school is eligible to sign up; however, I would warn that spots are limited. Tutors are in high demand!

Here is the link to the application parents should fill out to sign up: Sign Up Here.

Just as with previous years, there is no deadline for the application; families can sign up for Kids Corps anytime during the school year.
