Poem In Your Pocket Day
April 24: Poem In Your Pocket Day
From the Library: Celebrating National Poetry Month
April is National Poetry Month, and Lakeridge Lions have been diving into all things poetry in the library!
To wrap up the month, our students will join in the fun of Poem In Your Pocket Day on Thursday, April 24.
What is it? Originally launched in 2002, the celebration encourages people of all ages to carry a poem and share it with others — spreading the joy of poetry throughout the day.
How can students participate? By writing their own poem, choosing a favorite by another poet, or picking one from the library's displays. Students might even spot poems tucked around the building!
Participation is optional, but all are encouraged to join in and share a little poetry with classmates, family, and the community.
